What is CoolSculpting Elite?
CoolSculpting Elite is an FDA-cleared, non-surgical fat-reduction treatment that uses cryolipolysis: controlled cooling that selectively freezes fat cells so the body clears them naturally over the following weeks. It is the newest generation of the CoolSculpting system, with redesigned C-shaped applicators and the ability to treat two areas at once. CoolSculpting is FDA-cleared for nine treatment areas, and the manufacturer reports up to 20 to 25 percent fat reduction in a treated area per session (CoolSculpting).

How it works. Fat cells are more sensitive to cold than the tissue around them. The applicator cools the area to just above freezing, which crystallizes the lipids inside fat cells and triggers apoptosis, a controlled cell death. Over the following weeks your lymphatic system clears those cells, and they do not regenerate.

Before, during and after your treatment
Before. No special preparation is needed. Avoiding aspirin and other blood thinners in the days before can help minimize bruising, and we talk through exactly what to expect.
During. You may feel a pulling or tugging sensation and intense cold at first, which fades as the area numbs. With dual sculpting, each area takes about 35 minutes; most clients read, work or nap.
After. There is virtually no downtime, and you can return to normal activities immediately. Temporary redness, swelling, tingling or numbness are common and resolve on their own. Most clients notice changes within one to three months, with full results at about six months. Once the fat cells are gone they do not come back, but a stable weight keeps the remaining cells from enlarging.
