Sculptra rewards patience: the plan is a series, not a single visit.

Consultation and planning

We assess volume loss, agree on the areas to treat and estimate the number of vials and sessions your goal will take.

First treatment

The skin is cleansed and numbed, then Sculptra is placed deep in the dermis with a fine needle or cannula in about 30 to 45 minutes.

The 5-5-5 rule

Massage the treated areas for five minutes, five times a day, for five days. It spreads the product evenly and prevents nodules.

Follow-up sessions

Return every four to six weeks until the volume you want is in place, then a maintenance session about once a year.

What is Sculptra and how does it work?
Sculptra is an injectable collagen stimulator made from poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a biocompatible material that has been used in dissolvable sutures for decades. The FDA approved Sculptra in 2004 for facial fat loss in people with HIV and in 2009, as Sculptra Aesthetic, for deep facial wrinkles and folds (Sculptra). Unlike hyaluronic acid fillers, which add volume immediately, Sculptra works gradually: the PLLA microparticles prompt your skin to build its own collagen over 2 to 3 months, restoring volume and improving texture in a way that looks like your own tissue. Results appear over a series of 2 to 4 sessions and can last up to 2 years.
What areas can be treated with Sculptra?
Sculptra is FDA-approved for deep facial wrinkles and folds, particularly smile lines. It is also commonly used off-label for temple hollowing, cheek volume loss, jawline definition, chin augmentation, the décolletage and the buttocks.
How many Sculptra sessions will I need?
Most clients reach their goal with two to four sessions spaced four to six weeks apart. The number depends on your age, skin condition and how much volume you want to restore; we set the plan at your consultation.
When will I see results from Sculptra?
You will notice temporary fullness from the injection fluid for a day or two, then the true collagen-building result appears gradually over 6 to 12 weeks. The final result is visible around three to four months after your last session.
How long do Sculptra results last?
Up to two years or longer, because the volume is collagen your body built rather than a gel that is absorbed. A maintenance session about once a year sustains the result.
Is there any downtime after Sculptra injections?
Minimal. Mild swelling, redness or bruising at the injection sites can last two to five days, and most clients return to normal activities the same day. Skip strenuous exercise for 24 to 48 hours and follow the 5-5-5 massage routine.
